A Right Royal Breakfast

Knives and forks in union jack napkins

We have to say a BIG thank you to everybody who supported the Big Breakfast on Friday morning. Judging by people’s comments it was a big success and a great time was had by all. Good food, and a chance to meet and greet over a full English, tea, toast and marmalade. What’s not to like. We served 106 full English Breakfasts which was pretty good for a first time.

Of course it wouldn’t have happened without the amazing volunteers who were there from 7:00 am to prep the room and cook the amazing breakfasts. Fabulous team work from everybody and a huge thank you.

We must also thank our sponsors without whom this event would not have been possible so many thanks to Morrisons and Asda  in Market Drayton and Shepley’s Family Butchers in Market Drayton who provided the excellent bacon, sausage and Black Pudding which everybody enjoyed. A big thank you as well to Andy and Ann Davis who provided the lovely free range eggs to complete a perfect breakfast.

So, you think you can ride a bike then?

Well, we have a challenge for you at the Jubilee Party on the Green.  This bike in the pics may look harmless, but it has a definite quirk or two that make riding it a real “ride in the park” (sorry!)

We thought we would show you that it can be done, so just watch Jake’s demo below, but the question is………………………………………………………..  how good are you?   Can you do this, or will the bike beat you?  Our money is on the bike, but come and prove us wrong at the Party on the Green in Adderley on Saturday 4th June at 4,00pm.

Its all Happening in Adderley for Jubilee Weekend!

Goodness Me!   So much to remember but so much fun to be had!

Don’t forget the Jubilee Quiz on Thursday night 2nd June in the village hall – bar will be open, but we would take it carefully,  if you want a chance of winning – you will need your wits about you!

Then out of bed and up with the lark to sample a Full English Breakfast between 9.00 and 12.00 on Friday 3rd June.  Can’t wait to see you there, families, friends and neighbours,  for your most important meal of the day cooked by someone else!

As if that wasn’t enough at 4.00pm on Saturday 4th June, the Party on the Green.  There will be a barbecue and Crazy Bowls for all  at the Bowling Club, a bouncy castle, a Dog Show, some music and fun for the children, an Its a Knockout competition, an un-rideable bike to challenge those brave enough and ………………. in true Jubilee style we are asking you to bring along your favourite cake or pud to share.  We thought it would be wonderful to ask everyone to bring theirs along with the recipe so that if people enjoy yours, they can copy  the recipe and try and recreate it at home.  So get the oven going, and treat us all to your masterpiece.  We can’t wait!

Keep an eye open, we will post more details over the next day or so,

Coffee, Coffee, Coffee

Just a quick reminder about Saturday’s coffee morning at the Village Hall. The last coffee morning was such a success and people asked if we could have on on a Saturday so that those who go to work could join in. That seemed like a great idea so why not join us on Saturday morning between 10:30 and 12:00.

ÂŁ2.00 gets you tea/coffee and a piece of cake then there’s a chance to catch up on the village news and meet new people.

See you Saturday. Any money raised goes to the Adderley Community Fund.

Countdown To The Jubilee

Oh my! A long weekend and so much to do. There’s lots going on in Adderley during Jubilee weekend. We kick off with a Jubilee Quiz on Thursday 2nd June followed by the Big Breakfast on Friday then there’s the Party On The Green from 4:00 on Saturday including Crazy Bowls, a BBQ and a Dog Show plus lots of things for the little ones. There’s a performance by Mic Wire and music from Dickie. What’s not to like?

As we lead into the Jubilee weekend the Village Hall Bar re-opens every Tuesday, Thursday and Friday starting next week and following on from the success of the last one there’s another Meet and Greet Coffee Morning on the Saturday 28th May from 10:30 in the Village Hall.

Details below plus a leaflet you can download and keep.

What a lovely morning!

Coffee Morning Header

If you didn’t come along to the Coffee Morning in the village hall today, you missed a real treat!  The cakes were luscious and the conversation even better.

It was lovely to welcome lots of people who are new to the village and who were keen to meet others, chat and find out if they had anything in common.   It was also lovely to hear lots of views and ideas about what people would like to see happening in the village and to note that people were keen to be involved in all sorts of different ways.

It looks as if there will be another one organised but perhaps on a Saturday next time as we had a number of people who work, comment on the fact that they would have loved to come but couldn’t on a week day.  Watch the website for details.

Easter Trail Update

Its been fabulous to see and hear the children around the village doing the quiz over the last 10 days to find the eggs.  We hope you’ve enjoyed it.  The postbox is still on the village green on the fence near the Bowling Green if you have a completed sheet with the puzzle of the mystery word solved.  It will be taken down tomorrow (Sunday) and entries checked.    Our sincere apologies for the delay in putting the postbox up, it was an oversight on our part.

We hope you have all had a lovely Easter break and look forward to seeing you all at the Jubilee weekend.  Keep checking the website for updates on whats on

Meet & Greet Coffee Morning – next Friday

Don’t forget the Coffee Morning in the village hall next Friday 29th April, from 10.30 am.

Whether you are new to the village, newly retired, a new mum at home with baby, or a local because you have been here for some time, why not pop down for an hour or so?

The idea,  is to just come together for a chat, a coffee or tea, and a nice piece of cake.  Find out a bit about what’s going on locally, meet a few new people perhaps and, if people are interested, explore what else you may like to see going on in the village as our community gradually re-opens.  If there is enough interest we would like to make this a regular event so please come and join us.  You will be very very welcome.

If you can’t come for any reason but would be interested in future events, or prefer it to be at a different time or on a different day please let us know.    This is your community and we want it to be there for you.    If you click on the Event below you can tell us if you are coming…..  It does help to guarantee enough cake!
