You won’t want to miss this one! Hula-Hoop is coming to Adderley Village Hall. Starting Wednesday 10th Jan at 6:30. Just perfect for keeping in trim or losing those Christmas and New Year excesses. It’s exercise while having fun.

It’s Official – Adderley is Amazing

Picture of Victorian Christmas

Last night’s Carols Round the Village has raised £251.30 to date for Hope House Children’s Hospice – well done Adderley.

A big thank you to everybody who participated by giving of their time, many of them straight from work, gathering in a Christmas huddle and singing with full and throaty voice on a dark and damp December evening.

There are special thanks to those busy Christmas elves who worked in the background: Santa’s little helper who anonymously provided us with silly hats so that we looked the part. Fiona, Margaret and Val who made sure that we were fed when we got back to the Village Hall. Marius and Chris who manned the bar so that we could warm our cockles (always essential after singing for two hours).

A special mention for Alan Hodgson who provided much needed guidance, without which we would never have been organised, and John Fishbourne who was warm, generous and hospitable in equal measure.

If you missed us or if you wish to give us a little more then we will be sending off a cheque sometime between Christmas and New Year so there is still time to leave something at the bar in the Village Hall. Just mention Carols Round the Village.

A little reminder that the carol service at St Peter’s is at 7:00 on Christmas Eve. Be there early for a seat! Then afterwards we will be indulging in light refreshment and more warming of cockles at the Village Hall afterwards.

Merry Christmas one and all.

It’s one sleep before carols round the village. Listen out for singing and when the knock at the door comes give us a smile and make sure you have some change for the bucket. All proceeds to Hope House.

Thos of you who are coming to sing (a good singing voice is helpful but not essential) then we meet at the Village Hall at 18:30 before setting off round the Village.

We should be back at the Village Hall around 21:00 and then there are mince pies and sausage rolls. I’m sure one or two will allow themselves a little warming tot of something from the Highlands – a bit of a tightener – to round off the evening.

New Year’s Eve – Have You Paid For Your Tickets?

An important request from the organising committee for the New Year’s Eve celebration at the Village Hall.

If you have asked for tickets to be kept then you MUST confirm and pay for them as soon as possible.

Numbers for catering are vital and the last thing we want is people saying that they want tickets and then not turning up at the last minute or people turning up at the last minute and not having tickets.

Carol Singing Around The Village

Once again we will be going around the village to, hopefully, bring a little festive joy to all. Anyone is welcome to join us or just open your door to listen. We will meet at the Village Hall at 6:30 on Friday evening 22nd December. We will be back at the hall around 9:00 for mince pies and sausage rolls and maybe even more carols.

All proceeds will go to:

Hope House Children’s Hospice.

(Nothing is held back) So please be generous.

If you are not around but wish to donate please contact:

We need to recruit a Part-Time, self employed cleaner for the Village Hall

This would be for 6-8 hours a week which would be flexible and at times may require weekend work. Working under the direction of the Halls Maintenance Trustee.

The duties are to mop, dust and hoover all surfaces. Clean and maintain the internal and external toilets, clean ovens as required and generally keep the Hall and outside toilet in a clean and good order.

Anyone interested please contact Marius by Friday 15th December.
