As of Saturday 17th February Adderley has its own speed sign.
A consequence of the success of the project using the Market Drayton Safety Partnership speed sign and the overwhelmingly favourable response from the Adderley residents; the Parish Council has purchased a speed sign for the village.
The sign reminds passing drivers of their speed and thanks them for keeping to the 30 mph limit. It also records the speed of through traffic so that we can gather data about how the road is being used and how effective the current speed restrictions are.
The A529 is one of the most dangerous roads in Britain and Shropshire Council are in the process of bidding for funding to improve safety. We will use the data to inform decisions about how that money is used in Adderley Parish so as to improve road safety for everybody.
Many thanks to the road safety sub committee of Ian Wilson and Catrina Cornwall (pictured) aided and abetted by SimonCornwall.
