We have received the following notification from Adderley Bowling Club:

It is deep regret that have to announce the passing of our third team captain Steve Paterson. Steve died early Sunday morning 8th october in his sleep he will be sadly missed by all club members especially his tireless work in fielding his successful team. His funeral will be at Telford Crematorium on Monday morning 23rd October at 10_00am then returning to the Adderley Village Hall.

With three of the four leagues we compete in now at the half way stage in the season the following is a quick summary.

A team:  4^th out of 14 in division 1. Team in last 16 of Doubles Cup.

B team: 8^th out of 14 in division 3. Team in last 12 of consolation Doubles Cup.

C team: 10^th out of 14 in Division 6. This is a good performance so far as it is the team with most youngsters and newcomers in. Also one player who is top of the division averages.

Market Drayton Seniors:

A team: Top of Division 1. Five players in top 10 division averages. In last 8 of Eric Dobson Cup.

B team: 7^th out of 10 in Division 1. The only B team in this division. In last 16 of Geoff Brookes Cup

C team; 7^th out of 10 in Division 3.

Barlows Seniors League

A team: 12^th out of 14 in Division 3. This was the only team originally from Adderley in the Barlows league.

B team: 4^th out of 14 in Division 1. Three players in top 10 of division averages.

NOTES: The Market Drayton league in which we have three teams is not at the half way stage until 10^th July.

A very successful Crazy bowls and Barbeque event was held in the afternoon of the 1^st July. Thanks to all of the village for their support.

Congratulations to the Adderley Bowling Club! 2016 has been an outstanding year and one which we can all applaud. We’ll done everybody.

• The winner of the Drayton Seniors Geoff Brookes Team Doubles was an Adderley team
• The winner of the Drayton Seniors Mens merit was an Adderley player
• The winner of the Drayton seniors Lg averages was an Adderley player
• A winner in The Drayton Seniors Lg Doubles was an Adderley player
• A finalist in the Drayton Seniors Lg Ladies Merit was an Adderley player
• Champions of the Barlows Seniors Lg Division 1 was an Adderley team
• The winner of the Barlows Seniors Division 1 Lg averages was an Adderley player
• The winner of the County Ishwerwood Merit was an Adderley player

Pre season Bowling competition will be held on Saturday 28th March Starting at 10-0 am all members and new members welcome, join in and stretch those winter muscles ready for the start of the new season.
