Curry And Quiz Launches The Curry Club

Last nights Curry and Quiz Night was a sell out success. We packed out the Village Hall and a great time was had by all. A challenging quiz by Phil Gadd helped us build a healthy appetite for the real stars of the evening the curries! Provided by members of the community there was a wide choice from the spontaneously combusting Phall to a meaty West Indian and everything in between and something for the vegetarians and non-curry eaters. We had lots of rice (lots and lots) but best of all everybody had a great time and it was really, really nice to see a number of new faces.

The plan is to run Curry Nights on a regular basis with variations on a theme and possibly cookery demonstrations with invited chefs and cookery competitions. Keep an eye on the website/FB page for information.

A BIG Thank You to Ross Alkureishi who inspired the event, the Village Hall Social Committee who organised it, the amazing volunteers who worked so hard on the night, not forgetting the bar staff. Once again well done Phil Gadd for creating and running the amazing quiz.

Another Great Night in the Village Hall

Another Cuckoo Ale please! Great night at the Village Hall last night. Not very graceful but a lot of fun and a laughter. The Cuckoo Ale Band served us well with a brilliant caller who had us all on the floor enjoying every minute.

We must say a BIG Thank You to the amazing volunteers who set up, opened up and served up without whom these events just wouldn’t happen.

We have received the following message from the band this morning:

“Many thanks for booking The Cuckoo Ale Band for your village hop.

We had a great time – delightful hall, great dance floor but most of all lovely audience. We can’t do it without the audience!
Also many thanks for supper. Much appreciated.
Best Wishes
Bev &  Band”
