Celebrate Valentines with an Italian Evening and Quiz at the Village Hall

We have a grand reputation at Adderley Village Hall for our Quizzes so how’s this for an evening? For our next quiz we will be celebrating Valentines with an Italian evening. Bring a loved one or two (or as many loved ones as it takes to make a team) and join us for an evening of Italian themed food, Italian wine and a fiendishly clever quiz; for the winners there will be prizes and for the rest of us a great night out.

Village Hall Hosts Another Successful Bridge Drive

Alan Hodgson Writes:

The Bridge drive was, again, very successful with a number of new helpers added to the usual group of brilliant volunteers.

We managed to fill 19 tables and we had a very good raffle which meant the total funds raised was ÂŁ1024. (Webmaster says “Wowzers!”)

We received lots of compliments.

A very big THANK YOU to everybody who supported the event.

MacMillan Coffee Morning

Dear All

I would like to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who donated to and supported the coffee morning on Friday 25th September at the village hall.  It was a lovely surprise to find so many people willing to help raise money for this brilliant band of nursing staff.

Thank-you-1The total raised was ÂŁ650.50 for which I am truly grateful.

I would also like to thank everyone who supplied us with all the delicious cakes and pastries which helped us get to this wonderful total.  The ‘Spots on the Cake’ was won by Val Nash whose guess was so close it was unbelievable!!  Her guess was 573 and the actual number turned out to be 576. Theprize was half of the sweepstake money which Val has very kindly returned to me to be placed back in toward our final total.  The number of Buttons in the jar was won by Kirsty Dixon with a guess of 347 and the jar actually contained 354 – once again a very close guess. I hope you enjoy the chocolates Kirsty.  The star prize for the raffle of ÂŁ40 vouchers donated by The Swan with Two Necks in Blackbrook was won by Hilda Clare.  We all hope you enjoy the meal Hilda.  I also need to say a quick thank you to Homebase, Market Drayton, The Drayton Barbers and B & M for their kind donations to the raffle prizes too.

Finally, a personal message to all my ‘helpers’ on the day who worked so hard during the week prior and on the day it self.  Firstly Phil who I always knew had the patience of a saint but this was proved again this week, Chris & Lois McDermott, Steve & Sue Paterson, Fiona Coulon and Wendy Icke.  If I should have forgotten anyone, my apologies but mainly a big thank you to you all.

Next year? – who knows, let’s just feel proud of what we achieved this year!!  I certainly am.
