Coffee Morning Saturday 25th March
If you were at the last coffee morning you told us that you really enjoyed it. If you missed it, then we missed you and we’re looking forwards to seeing you on the 25th. If you’ve never been before then we’re looking forwards to meeting you and making you welcome.
“If at first you don’t succeed have some cake” the Mole in “The Boy, the mole, the fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy”.
The film of the book, shown at Christmas, won an Oscar for Best Animated Short at this year’s awards. We think we know why; it’s because the character of the mole shares our love of cake. It’s one of your five a day and it supports weight loss as part of a calorie controlled diet. You too can enjoy cake along with tea / coffee and outstanding conversation or just plain gossip.
Saturday 25th March 10:30 until 12:00. £2.00 gets you tea / coffee and cake. All welcome.
Dominoes! Mondays and Alternate Wednesdays
Did you know?
No one really knows why Dominoes is called Dominoes! Possibly it’s derived from the Latin word ‘dominos’ meaning lord or master.
The original game of dominoes came from China, possibly bought to Europe by Italian missionaries.
Another fun fact, you can join in games of dominoes at the Village Hall on Mondays at 7:30 or alternate Wednesdays from 2:00 until 4:00 next get together 15th and 29th March. Why not take a break and come and join our little group of players in the Village Hall or bring your own team and enjoy the conversation.

Village Hall AGM
This is an important meeting in the Village Hall calendar. The trustees will report on activities in the village hall and give you an opportunity to have your say.
Do you have an opinion on how the Village Hall is being run or are you interested in doing more and volunteering to help with the running of the Village Hall?
Come along, see and hear for yourself.
Thursday 20th April at 7:30 in the Village Hall
Family Event, Feb 26th
Can you help Adderley Village Hall?
You may be aware that our village hall is not in the best of shape and needs a considerable investment to bring it to the standard we would all like to see so that it can be used to its full potential.
Before we make any investment we need to understand what the fabric of our current building is really like and exactly what is required to ensure it is structurally sound and fit for purpose. As we consider potential projects we would like to understand what people would like from their community building in the future so that it can be considered in the design.
Do you have the skills we might need?
To ensure inclusion and effectiveness we would like to set up a working group with the appropriate skills and experience. The Village Hall Committee is very small and we know that we do not have all the skills required to make the most of this exciting opportunity.
With that in mind we are asking everyone in the village if they have, or know someone who has, the following skills or expertise that could join a small working group. Whether you are retired or working, but feel able to volunteer a few hours of your time every month, we would like to hear from you if you:
- have some project management experience to guide the group in the development of a project plan
- have a background in quantity surveying or structural engineering
- are an architect or experience in draughting architectural design
- have some experience in community consultation and/or engagement
- have experience in grant application and funding
