A Great Night Of Carol Singing

A small but highly vocal group of carol singers ventured forth on Tuesday night braving the cold night air to bring a little festive cheer. While the renditions of Good King Wencleslas and Once in Royal may not have always been the most tuneful they were definitely delivered with enthusiasm.

The good folk of Adderley responded in kind and when the donations were tallied there was £200 for Hope House. Well done Adderley! We know we didn’t get to every house  but that isn’t always possible so thank you everybody who participated and everybody who gave so generously.

If you are feeling in the Christmas mood you can still donate by contacting Ken and Sheila Greetham kenandsheilagreetham@outlook.com .

Adderley Carol Singing

On Tuesday 19th December we will have our annual carol singing around the village in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospices.

We will meet at the Village Hall at 6.30pm before a gentle stroll visiting houses and singing well known Carols for a very worthwhile cause.

Unfortunately, we cannot stop at every house, but if you would specifically like us to call at your house please contact Ken Greetham on 07703 632233. Also, if you would rather us not call, we fully respect your wish and will ensure that we do not knock on your door.  Again, give Ken a ring over the next couple of days.

We expect to return to the village hall at around 8.30pm, so everyone is welcome to join us and enjoy more festive spirit.

Oh what a night….!

Didn’t they do well?  Santa and Mrs Claus were on top form, the tree lights looked amazing, the grotto was magical,  the school team and the Adderley Tots teams entertained the children, the fabulous stall holders provided Christmas shopping ideas for the grown-ups, the mulled wine and mince pies went down a storm, and Mortzarella pizza’s did a roaring trade with their excellent pizzas.  The hall was packed with local people and it was buzzing all night.  Lots of fabulous compliments for putting on such a community event.

So here’s a cheer for the Nice Place To Be Team who organised and funded the event.  In particular Iain Wilson and Val Nash who co-ordinated everything, but so many people gave their time and talents.  You know who you are and your time and expertise are so appreciated. You all contributed to making it a wonderful memorable event for our community, especially the children,  and you all deserve to give yourselves a pat on the back.  Thank you.

here are just a few pics of the event, but we will put together a gallery of pictures for you to enjoy over the next few days.  If you have any you could share please send them to webmaster@adderleyparish.co.uk

Lots of last minute goodies to browse

Friday night in Adderley is the Great Big Switch on!   Have you got your lights up yet?  Well the Christmas Tree on the Green will be shining for all to see on Friday night, but it needs you there to help with the countdown.

Then pop into the hall to get in the festive mood browsing some of the lovely local stalls who will be showing their wares for you to buy.  Its too good to miss, so see you there!

How many sleeps left ’til Switch on?

Santa and Mrs Claus

Only TWO!!!!  Yes, we know!  So excited here.  Hope you are ready to come down and see Santa switching on the lights with Mrs Claus on Friday night!

Don’t forget to remind Mum and Dad and you don’t even need to have any tea before you come.  Mortzarella will be here with their fabulous wood fired pizzas.  How good is that?  Oh, and while you are eating pizza send the grownups inside to have some mulled wine and buy last minute Christmas presents from the artisan stalls.   Order your pizza in advance from Mortzarella on  07485 552498 or via FB @Mortzarella ,

Once you’ve had your pizza you had better pop in and see Santa and Mrs Claus in the grotto, they will be waiting to hear what you want for Christmas so make sure you go and have a word.

Santa’s Postbox Is Ready

Snowflake Banner

Santa’s postbox is in place by the Christmas Tree on the Village Green. Write out your letters to Mr and Mrs Santa and let them know your wishes. Now remember, no promises and be sure that you’ve been good and your name is on the nice list.

It’s possible, just possible that if you come to see Santa on Friday 8th when we light up the Christmas Tree you just might be able to tell Santa your Christmas wish.
