Scarecrow Trail – Entries Update

Thank you to all the lovely people who have let us know about their scarecrow entry.  We have already had 10 entries and have heard rumblings from others that they may be entering.  It would be lovely to match or even exceed our wonderful total of 26 entries last year if we could!

We are thrilled that St Peter’s Church and Adderley School have both been in touch to say that they are putting in entries, that is so good to hear and a wonderful set of bookends for both entries to the village.

Hopefully you will have had a flyer through your door with a gentle reminder that the theme is “A Children’s Book” but just in case, here are the details for registering your entry.

All we need from you is an email to:

niceplacetobe@adderleyparish.co.uk or a text to Val Nash on 07814 071254 with your name, address and a phone number (just in case we need to clarify anything with you).   We don’t need to know what you are doing, just that you are entering.   We would like to have an idea of entries by 17th June if possible as we have to sort out the map for the trail.  Look forward to hearing from you.

Scarecrow Trail starts 26th June

Scarecrow Trail Header

Who can believe its June already?   Time to get that straw or stuffing out and begin to create your masterpiece.

The theme this year is Children’s Books and we know that some people have already got their plans in place for their entry but if you are like me you are still trying to decide what to do.  Well time’s running out and we would really like to know in the next couple of weeks what your entry is likely to be.  Just like last year we will be doing a map of the trail so we will need to have your name and address so that we can add your masterpiece to the trail for all to admire.

Please email us at niceplacetobe@adderleyparish.co.uk telling us the name, address and title of your scarecrow.  We will need your entries by THURSDAY 17TH JUNE to give us time to do the map.

Your scarecrow needs to be ready to go out on display on Saturday 26th.  Please think about the position of your entry, so that it is near enough to the path/road to be seen and does not need people to come on to your property to view it.  We simply don’t know what the covid rules will be so lets be safe.

Scarecrow Trail 2021

Scarecrow Trail Header

It doesn’t seem like a year but it is. Time to get the thinking caps on and the creative juices flowing. This year the theme for the Scarecrow Trail is Children’s Books and we’re looking forwards to see what everybody does with that.

The starting date is Friday 25th June and just like last year there will be a map for people to follow.

Don’t forget that Sunday 27th June is St Peter’s Day Celebration and we’re hoping that as people do the trail they will take time out to enjoy the offerings of St Peter’s day at the Church.

Details for the scarecrow trail to follow of the next couple of weeks so start to get your ideas together – it’s going to be a good one.
