We’re on the Way and we need a Logo for Adderley

Village Hal

The Rebuilding Sub Group of the Adderley Village Hall Committee met on 10th September and members reported they had been busy all summer. The Finance Group will be meeting with the Council Funding Team and are looking at other sources of Grants and Funding. To this end some members will be attending Business Case Writing Courses specifically aimed at helping charities draw up a bid for funding. The Social Committee have been compiling a list of local businesses who might be approached for sponsorship and are in the early stages of planning a Grand Fundraising Event with a Celebrity Guest Speaker.

We would like to have a logo and strap line for all Adderley organisations and events. Any ideas? The oak tree on the village green or the church have been suggested so far. Any budding graphic designers out there please contact jane.rushton@live.co.uk

Neighbourhood Plan: Designated Area Consultation

The Three Parishes Neighbourhood Plan covers Norton In Hales, Adderley and Moreton Say. This will give us a say in how our villages develop over the next ten years so it’s an important plan and we all should be part of it.

Work has been underway to get it started over the last few months and we have formally notified Shropshire Council that we wish to develop our own Neighbourhood Plan. Shropshire Council have taken our proposal and put it out for consultation: this is an important first step.

The consultation will run until 24th October and you can see the proposed Designated Area here:

http://shropshire.gov.uk/get-involved/adderley-moreton-say-and-norton-in-hales-neighbourhood-plan/

If you have a view on the nature and extent of the area you should respond to the consultation using the links found at that address.

To find out more about the Three Parishes Neighbourhood Plan, who is involved, what it means and how to get engaged in the plan you can visit:

or you can follow the RSS feed on the News page of this website.

Speeding on Rectory Lane Plus The Latest on the A529

Things are happening on the A529!  Shropshire Council have secured funding for safety measures to the A529, a large section of which runs through Adderley parish. Shropshire Council’s funding application can be seen here Road Safety Fund Application . The Sub-Committee have already made contact with Shropshire Council’s Project Team to maximise the funds that are made available to reduce the average speed of traffic through our village.  As such a letter has been submitted to outline our initial suggestions taking into account the comments we have already received from parishioners Letter to Shropshire Council re A529 .  We will continue to engage fully with Shropshire Council as the project progresses.  You can see that we have received a positive response from the Council Submission Response

You will all be aware of the speed monitoring sign which continues to move around the village, collecting data and raising awareness.   You can click on the graphs below to see the latest results from Rectory Lane.

We always welcome new members to join our Sub-Committee and value any comments/suggestions from parishioners.

Adderley Race Night

A great night once again at what is one of the year’s biggest fund raisers for the Village Hall. A huge thank you to the volunteers who sold tickets, prepared food, set up, decorated and manned the bar. Extra thanks to Phil Gadd for providing the AV and many thanks to the people who worked in the kitchen to make this another amazing event.
