And Finally ……….

It’s an unseasonably warm and a very subdued New Year’s Eve but as always it’s time to reflect on the year past and to make plans for the year to come.

Adderley has shone brightly over the last twelve months despite the restrictions imposed because of the pandemic. We had our Stone Hunt, our Scarecrow Trail and a great Halloween at the Village Hall. Not to mention another amazing visit from Santa and Mrs Claus, and Adderley Lights Up 21, just amazing.

It’s time to thank all those who quietly worked hard behind the scenes as well as those who proposed, organised, participated or just came to support. You know who you are and we send you a big thank you for making Adderley the place that it is.

The year to come promises lots of opportunities for  Adderley to show its bright side. Not least we have a Jubilee Year which will be celebrated in June. There will be tree plantings and Big Breakfasts and celebrations and we would love to hear what you think.

The Adderley Heritage Trail will see its launch and we hope lots of you will want to be involved in something that’s important for Adderley Parish so watch out for that.

And Finally a last thank you for 2021 from the Adderley Parish Website and the Adderley Village Facebook Page to all of you who support us and a heartfelt wish for a Happy 2022.

Adderley, A Nice Place To Be!

Important Government Consultation

We are grateful to Barbara Slack for highlighting a Government Consultation which is due to close on the 12th January 2022. This consultation concerning the  phasing out of fossil fuel heating in homes off the gas grid (that’s Adderley) will affect all of us in the parish in some way.

You should, if you can, read the consultation document available from the URL below and respond. It is the intention of the Parish Council to put in a response because we feel that these proposals will have a disproportionate impact on rural homes.

No Carols Again This Year

Entrance to St Peter's Church

Given the news about the extreme spread of the Omicron variant of Covid after a lot of thought and consideration we have regretfully decided not to go ahead with Carols around the Christmas Tree on Monday. Thank you to everyone who voted.

Also we have been asked to let you know that the Christmas Eve Carol Service at St Peter’s Church has also been cancelled.

We’re all sorry to have this news as the Carols around the village and at St Peters are an important part of Adderley at Christmas plus both are big fund raisers. But better be safe and enjoy time with your families.

Thank You

A BIG thank you to everybody who helped to make last night’s visit by Santa and Mrs Claus such a big success. Santa  has approved the decorations and is sure that Rudolf will be able to find Adderley this year.

There was lots of fun and Santa took away lots of requests (and that was just from the grown ups) . Now we’ll all have to be good and stay on the nice list.

Adderley Shines – Again!

What an amazing collection of recycled and up cycled Christmas tree decorations. There are loads of them. We have felt stars (very cute!), willow stars, willow wreaths, plant pot bells and silver foil angels. Then there are wooden pictures and two amazing bird feeders. Lots more. Well done every body!

We will see you there tonight when Santa and Mrs Claus come to inspect the lights. Sooo exciting!
