Decorating our tree and supporting the planet too!

You will remember last year that we invited everyone in the village to make a decoration to hang on the Christmas Tree on the Green.  In this year of focus on saving our planet and trying to be greener we would like to invite you to create your own decoration again.  So…….

  • Perhaps you would like to help our wildlife through the winter by making some seeded ornaments to hang on the tree for the birds to enjoy over the the winter.
  • Or you may see alot of plastic waste in your recycling that you might be able to convert into a stunning Christmas decoration to remind us that we should be recycling our waste,
  • or you may have a decoration that you were going to throw away this year that you think might cheer us up as we view our wonderful tree.

The possibilities are endless but at the end of this article we are posting some links to a few ideas for you if you are like us and need inspiration!

A 529 Traffic Calming Measures. A Statement From WSP

Following a request from the Parish Council this statement regarding the potential traffic calming measures on the A529 through Adderley has been issued by WSP, Shropshire Council’s Contractor, after discussions with Shropshire Highway’s Officers. We are now waiting for the Formal Consultation though we have no timescale yet.

The informal questionnaire was undertaken to “test the water” regarding the local view before taking any designs to the formal consultation required for traffic calming.  This formal consultation is the opportunity for comments to be made about a more developed design.  The responses showed a full range of views about traffic measures through the village including both support and objection, but also a number of doubts and caveats. Some of the comments resonated with the initial thoughts of the design team. Others expressed very different concerns and still other opinions expressed fall outside of the design regulations and guidelines.

Thank you to the very lovely Tracy Ennis in Station Road, who has organised a “Pop up” in the village hall which will be a great opportunity to purchase some really different clothes and fashion accessories that you won’t find on the high street.  Freshen up your wardrobe, buy a Christmas present or two, or just come along to get some great ideas of what’s on trend right now.  Drinks and nibbles will be served on the evening and it’s a great opportunity to bring along a friend and have a lovely evening out.  Even better, if you can’t manage the evening the pop up will be open again on Saturday morning so you can come along then to view or to pick up that piece you should have ordered the night before.  How good is that?

Book your place by texting or calling Tracy – details on the flier and we will see you there!
