Moreton Say Hosts Open Forum Number One!

Very good night at Moreton Say last night for the first of the Neighbourhood Plan open forums. During the evening between fifteen and twenty people enjoyed tea, coffee and cake before a quick briefing from Lawrence of Apt then one to one Q & A.

There were large maps covering landscape, amenity space, listed buildings and the Parish Profile. This gave people lots to discuss.

This afternoon at 2:00 and tonight at 8:00 it’s the turn of Adderley. Apt will be there again together with Renee from the Community Charity. There’s an update on where we are and all of the maps plus, at the evening event, a chance to talk to the experts about the Neighbourhood Plan.

We look forwards to seeing you and hearing your thoughts and opinions. don’t forget, bring a friend or a neighbour especially if they haven’t been to one before!

Carols Round The Village

Despite the rain this year’s group of carollers walked and sang from the Village Hall, via Adderley Barns, round the village and back to the Village Hall for mince pies and mulled wine. In the process they raised an incredible £360!!

An outstanding achievement. A huge thank you to people who played musical instruments, those who sang, those who provided food and drink and of course, those who gave generously.

The money raised will go to Hope House Children’s Hospice.

Speeding on Rectory Lane Plus The Latest on the A529

Things are happening on the A529!  Shropshire Council have secured funding for safety measures to the A529, a large section of which runs through Adderley parish. Shropshire Council’s funding application can be seen here Road Safety Fund Application . The Sub-Committee have already made contact with Shropshire Council’s Project Team to maximise the funds that are made available to reduce the average speed of traffic through our village.  As such a letter has been submitted to outline our initial suggestions taking into account the comments we have already received from parishioners Letter to Shropshire Council re A529 .  We will continue to engage fully with Shropshire Council as the project progresses.  You can see that we have received a positive response from the Council Submission Response

You will all be aware of the speed monitoring sign which continues to move around the village, collecting data and raising awareness.   You can click on the graphs below to see the latest results from Rectory Lane.

We always welcome new members to join our Sub-Committee and value any comments/suggestions from parishioners.
