Sunday saw parents and children gather for hot dogs, burgers and fireworks at Adderley Village Hall. There were stalls in the room and the bottle stall raised £90 for the Village hall.

A Nice Place To Be
The Village Hall is at the centre of the community, serving as meeting place, social club, licensed premises, function room and school hall
The Rebuilding Sub Group of the Adderley Village Hall Committee met on 10th September and members reported they had been busy all summer. The Finance Group will be meeting with the Council Funding Team and are looking at other sources of Grants and Funding. To this end some members will be attending Business Case Writing Courses specifically aimed at helping charities draw up a bid for funding. The Social Committee have been compiling a list of local businesses who might be approached for sponsorship and are in the early stages of planning a Grand Fundraising Event with a Celebrity Guest Speaker.
We would like to have a logo and strap line for all Adderley organisations and events. Any ideas? The oak tree on the village green or the church have been suggested so far. Any budding graphic designers out there please contact jane.rushton@live.co.uk

It’s the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. Come along and give Carol all the support you can between10:00 and 12:00 plus have great tea and cakes with a good gossip while the children play next door – what could be better?
All contributions gratefully received and if you can offer cakes then message Carol Gadd via the AVH Facebook Page.
A great night once again at what is one of the year’s biggest fund raisers for the Village Hall. A huge thank you to the volunteers who sold tickets, prepared food, set up, decorated and manned the bar. Extra thanks to Phil Gadd for providing the AV and many thanks to the people who worked in the kitchen to make this another amazing event.

At the Village Meeting on 30th May 2018 it was decided that rather than refurbish the Village Hall and Bowling Pavilion, we should erect a new combined building on the site of the existing Bowling Pavilion. A Building Sub Group of the Adderley Village Hall Committee was formed from volunteers present on the night.
The Sub Group, under the Chairmanship of Jim Faulkner, is made up of those who have lived in the village for most of their lives as well as newcomers. There is also quite a wide age span and skill set.
First, we have to establish whether Planning Permission may be granted for a new building and if Funding might be available. Do you have expertise in either of these areas? If so, and you would like to help we would love to hear from you.
Contact Jim Faulkner – Email: jimdfaul@gmail.com or Jane Rushton, the Sub Group Secretary – Email: jane.rushton@live.co.uk.
We will publish the minutes of our meetings on this web site
