And The Winners Are?…

After having our heads together for a long while we decided that we couldn’t decide. The pictures submitted for the poster competition were sooooo good that we have decided to use all of them. Yes! All of them.

Congratulations to Scarlett and Buster Keegan, Jacob and Samuel Corner and Amity Keegan whose pictures will appear on the publicity posters around the village for the Adderley Lights Up For Christmas Big Switch On.

Congratulations also to Sophie Corner and Genevieve Alkureshi who’s pictures will appear on the web and social media publicity.

Well done everybody.

Christmas Wreath making opportunity in Adderley!

Snowflake Banner

Adderley School have come up with a wonderful seasonal fundraising idea which will mean you can deck your door with a beautiful home-made wreath whilst raising some much needed funds for Adderley School.  A win/win situation we think!

There are two options on offer, and both will give you an amazing home-made wreath that you can hang with pride on your door for all to admire.

Option One:  A ring with all the greenery already in place, and supplied with a range of dried fruit, fir cones, feathers and a bow for you to attach as you wish to the ready greened ring

Option Two: A plain ring will be supplied along with the greenery but you can attach this yourself in whatever combination you prefer.  Florists wire will be provided as well as the fruit, fir cones, feathers and bow for you to add yourself when you have made your ring.

Both options will be delivered to your door in a box along with written instructions and guidance on how to construct your wreath  A ‘how to’ video can be supplied on request demonstrating how to build your wreath.

The cost is £30 per box and these can be delivered to your door, or to a pick up point in the village if you prefer.

Payment with order prior to delivery and orders must be received by 15th November to give the florist time to make up the boxes prior to delivery at the end of November.

To place your order please contact Carolyn by email: carolyn.cope@hotmail.co.uk or her mobile 07904190274  Please include your name, address a contact number and confirm your payment method.

Christmas Lights Posters

We are starting to receive some lovely pictures from children in the village for the Christmas Poster.

If you are under 11 years old there is still time to put in a poster. All posters will appear in the gallery and one will form the basis of the posters round the village to promote Adderley Lights Up for Christmas. You have until Wednesday 4th November so let’s get creative.

Community Housing Survey – Last Chance

The response to the Neighbourhood Plan Community Housing Survey (AKA The Big Questions) has been brilliant. If you haven’t either completed the form online (it takes about 30 minutes) or filled in the paper form the last day for submission is Saturday. Postal returns received after that date will still be counted but you need to get it into the post.

This is your opportunity to have your say and shape the future of Adderley Parish and it’s literally a once in fifteen years opportunity. At some point next year you will be asked to vote on the outcome in a referendum and this is your chance to get your point of view into the plan.

Don’t forget you can also be entered into the draw for a £100 grocery voucher – what’s not to like? All responses are confidential and the details you provide for the draw are taken out before the data is analysed.

To complete the online form go over to https://threeparishplan.org/the-big-questions/

Don’t delay there is only one week to design your poster and get it into the village website. Closing Date for poster entries Wednesday 4th November

Halloween Trail

Because of the Covid-19 restrictions it’s not likely that children will be knocking at the door on October 31st. this means a number of disappointed children. So, Jenny Wrathall has come up with a suggestion for a Halloween Trail.

This simple idea will enable children to keep safe and have some fun in their family bubble.

You are being asked to put out some pumpkin cutouts and / or dress one of your windows in something suitably scary so that the children can walk around the village and have their moment in the dark with some appropriate atmosphere.

You can create window scenes with poster paints, coloured tissue paper or suitably lit props.

We think this is a great idea and we have already started planning our window display. Contributions of chocolate and sweets direct to parents for later consumption will always be welcome.
