A reminder to everybody who is clapping for the NHS this evening at 8:00 to take a picture of yourselves and send it to:
webmaster@adderleyparish.co.uk
We will use these to create a gallery for the website.
Another reminder to take your rainbow pictures to the bus shelter and put them in the envelope so that they can be part of the display on the noticeboard.
And finally Esther: The A529 into Market Drayton will be closed from the 5th May for 6 weeks.
The Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin Hospital Trust has issued a letter to say how overwhelmed they are by the support of communities during the current pandemic. You can read a copy of the letter here:
Let’s celebrate everybody clapping for the NHS. How about taking a picture of yourselves or your street when we go out and clap for the NHS. It’s been suggested that it would be a nice idea to capture that moment. So next Thursday 30th April, come rain or shine, when you stand in your garden take a picture with your phone and send it to:
webmaster@adderleyparish.co.uk
We will use the pictures to create a gallery on the website.
Also we want pictures of rainbows. There are some blanks in the bus shelter (or you can make your own). Colour them in (it’s mindful and can occupy the children) and leave the finished rainbows in the bus shelter in the plastic wallet provided. The Adderley fairies will laminate them and make a display on the village notice board to show our support.
Judging by the amount of traffic to the website a large number of people have read about the proposed speed limit changes to the A529 between Market Drayton and Adderley and within Adderley itself with the extension of the 30 mph limit. If you missed it you can find the details here: Speed Limit Changes
It’s important that if we want these changes to happen we must indicate as much to Shropshire Council. The Parish Council will be indicating that it is in favour of the proposals. OF course there may be people who wish to object to the proposed changes; either way it is up to us to make our views known.
The formal consultation is now live and the link below will take you to the consultation area of Shropshire Council’s website. There is a tab entitled “how to get involved” which provides an email address to respond to plus a contact number should you have any queries.
I just want to let you know about a new resource I’ve been putting together this week. I know that many of us are missing gathering together to worship each week, I’m certainly missing you all! I’ve been wrestling with whether to start streaming services online, but given the demographics of our congregations I’m still not sure that’s really the best way forward – there are several churches in the area doing that really well so if that is something you’d like then let me know and I can point you in the right direction.
What I have decided to do instead is to set up a new telephone number which you can phone at any time in the week and hear a recording of a short service/reflection. At the moment I plan to put up a ‘Sunday Service’ each Sunday and then a short act of Compline/night prayer each Thursday. Once they are put on the system the recordings will stay there until they are replaced so you can phone at any time and hear the most recent recording. Hopefully this will be a helpful and accessible way of continuing to worship ‘Together at Home’.
The number to call is:
(01630) 410490
(calls will cost your standard local rate)
If you have the capability to record yourself speaking and would be happy to contribute the odd bible reading/prayer from time to time then please do let me know. Likewise, if you have any suggestions about other things we could be doing during this time then get in touch.
We have received details of the changes to the speed limit between Market Drayton and Adderley as well as through Adderley itself. These are in the attached documents which you can download by clicking the link.
Another source of shopping for those who can’t or don’t wish to go far from home at the moment. Martin’s Door Step Deliveries Acton offers a range of drinks and products in addition to milk. Chris and Lois have provided pictures of Martins leaflet.

As of yesterday, the 16th April, the Urgent Care Services from Princes Royal and Royal Shrewsbury have been temporarily moved to Whitchurch and Bridgnorth. You can see details in the attached notice from Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Trust.
The Hinds Head in Norton In Hales now have a fruit and veg stall every Wednesday and Friday between 11 am and 1 pm. Below is a list of available produce. Many thanks to Chris and Lois for bringing this to everybody’s attention.
