Helicopters

At Last week’s Parish Council Meeting we received a report from the Helicopter Liaison Committee. The Helicopter Training School at Shawbury is taking delivery of a new fleet of helicopters to replace the existing  ageing models.

As a consequence the training staff will be receiving conversion training over the next few weeks so you may well notice increased activity in the skies over Adderley. This is temporary and things should return to normal after May if all goes to plan. If you have any concerns contact our representative on the liaison group, Councillor Andrew Swindale who can advise.

Contact details can be found on the Parish Council page of the website.

DoLS Ae Looking for Volunteers!

A project recruiting volunteers needs your help. DoLS are looking for help in gaining volunteers to act as Relevant Persons’ Representatives to support people in Care Homes who have an authorisation to deprive them of their liberty (DoLS) and don’t have anyone suitable to act as their representative (usually it would be a family member or a close friend who would take on this role).

If you think you can help or know somebody who can help please contact:

Open Day at 1 and 2 St Peter’s Court

There’s an Open Day on Saturday so that potential buyers can take a look at 1 and 2 St Peter’s Court, next to the Village Hall. Kelly Simpson, from Golden Simpson, has been in touch to say that this is being run by the agents so much as Goulden Simpson like to party in Adderley (and who doesn’t) this time it’s just sales (sigh).

Kelly says, by all means come along and have a nose but it’s not going to be a Prosecco day this time – maybe next time?

Another Great Night in the Village Hall

Another Cuckoo Ale please! Great night at the Village Hall last night. Not very graceful but a lot of fun and a laughter. The Cuckoo Ale Band served us well with a brilliant caller who had us all on the floor enjoying every minute.

We must say a BIG Thank You to the amazing volunteers who set up, opened up and served up without whom these events just wouldn’t happen.

We have received the following message from the band this morning:

“Many thanks for booking The Cuckoo Ale Band for your village hop.

We had a great time – delightful hall, great dance floor but most of all lovely audience. We can’t do it without the audience!
Also many thanks for supper. Much appreciated.
Best Wishes
Bev &  Band”
