Nice Place to Be – Looking Back and Thinking Ahead

Tea and biscuits anyone? We’re having a get together on Sunday 16th April and you are invited to join us for tea, biscuits and chance to meet, greet and catch up with what Nice Place To Be has been doing.

Nice Place To Be came about during the pandemic lockdown. A few willing volunteers organised things to do outside. Treasure trails, scarecrow trails, stone hunts not forgetting Santa and Mrs Santa; a chance to be outdoors with  your close contacts and, when rules allowed, nearest family.

As the pandemic restrictions came to an end an opportunity presented itself and Geoff Butter’s amazing historical collection came to Adderley looking for a new home. We needed to apply for a Lottery grant but Lottery grants need organisations to deliver and so Nice Place To Be became a thing. We created a constitution, rescued the Adderley Community Fund from Barclays Bank and the Adderley Heritage Trail was born.

On Sunday 16th April Nice Place To Be is just about 12 months old and we want to share what we have been doing: progress on the Heritage Trail, coffee mornings, Mr and Mrs Santa’s visit, Easter Egg Hunt, Big Breakfast……. it’s been a busy year.

Nice Place to Be is about what you want in your community so please come along with ideas about what you would like to see happening in Adderley.

So, why not join us in the Village Hall on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm for a cup of tea/coffee and some biscuits and find out what’s been happening behind the scenes.
