The most enormous thank you to everybody who took part in the Scarecrow Trail this year. The weather wasn’t always our friend but there were wonderful scarecrows and people who went to see had a lovely time. Here are some of the lovely comments that we received:
Just wanted to say that all the scarecrows look great and we have loved doing the trail
There are so many fab scarecrows this year. Well done for keeping it going I’m sure everyone is getting enjoyment from them
I just wanted to say thankyou to you and the team for organising the scarecrow trail. After only moving here a few months ago our kiddos have already made so many lovely childhood memories. Thank you for your thought and all the hard work.
Hi, we have been on a little stroll with the dogs and everyone has made such an effort with the scarecrows – love living here!
Just done the trail with the grandchildren and they have had so much fun working out what each one is – thank you everyone its been great
We’ve had family over for the first time since before lockdown and they have loved the scarecrows and doing the trail. Thank you to everyone who made such an effort!
Even something as simple as a scarecrow trail can make a big difference to a lot of people so whether you made a scarecrow or whether you just went around and supported give yourselves a round of applause you are amazing.

There has been a final flurry and we have got the latest map update. Check it and make sure that you’re on in roughly the right place. If I’ve managed to miss you out I’m sorry, just let me know and I’ll put you in. If you’re a bit late don’t worry there’s always space for another.
It’s an amazing entry, well done everybody. Looking forward to seeing the scarecrows come out to play on the 25th and 26th. Fingers crossed for the weather. The final map will be available to download on Friday night and the printed map will be in the book shelter on Saturday morning.
The Annual Parish Meeting is on Wednesday the 21st and because of pandemic restrictions it will be held online. Details for accessing the webinar can be found in the post for the event:
Despite the cold, the wet and the snow Sophie braved the elements to begin the stone snake on the village green. An amazing array of all of the painted stones that were made for the Easter stone hunt plus the ones that didn’t make it into the hunt because we had so many.
If you’ve been inspired to paint your own stone please feel free to add it to the snake. Let’s see if we can make it stretch all around the tree.
