Last night’s Carols Round the Village has raised £251.30 to date for Hope House Children’s Hospice – well done Adderley.
A big thank you to everybody who participated by giving of their time, many of them straight from work, gathering in a Christmas huddle and singing with full and throaty voice on a dark and damp December evening.
There are special thanks to those busy Christmas elves who worked in the background: Santa’s little helper who anonymously provided us with silly hats so that we looked the part. Fiona, Margaret and Val who made sure that we were fed when we got back to the Village Hall. Marius and Chris who manned the bar so that we could warm our cockles (always essential after singing for two hours).
A special mention for Alan Hodgson who provided much needed guidance, without which we would never have been organised, and John Fishbourne who was warm, generous and hospitable in equal measure.
If you missed us or if you wish to give us a little more then we will be sending off a cheque sometime between Christmas and New Year so there is still time to leave something at the bar in the Village Hall. Just mention Carols Round the Village.
A little reminder that the carol service at St Peter’s is at 7:00 on Christmas Eve. Be there early for a seat! Then afterwards we will be indulging in light refreshment and more warming of cockles at the Village Hall afterwards.
Merry Christmas one and all.
