Thanks to the work of dedicated volunteers and in particular, Peter Bruty, we have been able to edit and upload some amazing new images for you to enjoy on the Adderley Heritage Website.
Amongst other things there are some priceless images of every single page of the Autograph Books kept at Raven House during and after the 1914/18 First World War when it was a convalescent hospital for injured soldiers, and subsequently the Edith Cavell Rest homes for nurses.
Some of the stories, messages and poetry in this book will give you cause to reflect, bring a tear to your eye or just appreciate the capturing of such a treasured part of Adderley History. Follow this link http://www.adderleyheritage.co.uk Go to Search and type in Raven House or Notes from soldiers and you will be rewarded with hours of beautiful images to peruse. Go and enjoy and tell us what you think or if it triggers any memories shared by relatives who lived in that time.
Originals of these images will all be kept at Shropshire Archive to preserve them, they are very precious and delicate.
