Adderley Village Hall 59’ers Club

Village Hal

We have a very successful “Adderley Village Hall 59’ers” lottery club which has been running for many years to help raise money for maintenance of the village hall.

It’s an easy way of offering your support, with the added benefit of the chance to win £30 each week!  A donation of £1per week (payable in 10 week blocks by BACs, cash or cheque) gives each member a number between 1 and 59.  Each Saturday the National Lottery Bonus Ball is used to identify the lucky winner.

Could it be you next week?

We currently have 4 numbers unallocated, so if you would like to join just get in touch with me and I will add you to the group and let you know what your number is going to be.

We are incredibly grateful to all the people who support us through the 59’ers club and hope you may consider joining them.

We look forward to welcoming you to this light-hearted fundraiser.   Please contact me via any of the routes below and thank you for your support.

You Need To Show Voter ID To Vote!

Shropshire Council Logo

You may know that residents in the Shropshire Council area will need to show photo ID to vote in the West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner(PCC) election on Thursday 2 May.

This will also be the case for the next general election, for the local elections in May 2025, and for any future by-elections.

Ahead of the PCC election we’re reminding residents to make sure they are ready to vote by checking they have an accepted form of ID – and we ask that you help to get this important message out to people in your area if you can.

To help you do so, we’ve attached two social media graphics and two posters (A4 and A3 size) for you to use.

Anyone voting at a polling station will need to show photo ID before they can be given their ballot paper. It’s important that everyone understands what types of ID they can use, and how to apply for free ID if they need it.

Accepted forms of ID include a UK, European Economic Area (EEA) or Commonwealth passport or drivers’ licence; and some concessionary travel passes, such as an older person’s bus pass or an Oyster 60+ card. Voters    will be able to use expired ID if they are still recognisable from the photo.

Anyone who does not have one of the accepted forms of ID will be able to apply for free ID online at www.voter-authority-certificate.service.gov.uk/ [1] or by completing a paper form.

The full list of accepted ID is available on the Electoral Commission’s website, along with more information about the new requirement and details of how to apply for the free ID, at electoralcommission.org.uk/voterID.

To apply for the Voter Authority Certificate, voters will need to provide a photo, full name, date of birth, the address at which they are registered to vote and their National Insurance number. The deadline to apply is 24 April.

If you have any questions please email our elections team –

Saturday’s Italian Gourmet Experience

Saturday night gave us a taste extravaganza at Adderley Village Hall. Four courses of amazing Italian Food served by an amazing young serving team and prepared by guest chef Harry Wilson.

Everyone was greeted with a glass of Prosecco and then Rachel from Nomad Wines in Market Drayton introduced a range of delicious wines to people to buy and have with their meal.

Our Italian guests at the Italian Gourmet evening commented that they were presented with exquisitely presented dishes that tasted wonderful and were fabulous in every way. Well done chef and the team of volunteers who made us feel very well looked after.

While everybody enjoyed antipasti served with homemade Caponata and locally sourced wild garlic pesto Chef Harry prepared a starter of ravioli with either lamb and tarragon or butternut squash. Next we moved on to a choice of wild mushroom risotto or gnocchi in a pizzaiola sauce served with sirloin steak on a bed of celeriac purée . While people washed this down with the excellent Nomad wines the kitchen summoned up a trio of deserts and the meal finished with coffees (or tea for those who preferred it)

thank you so much for organising the Italian evening. We all really enjoyed ourselves and the food was excellent. Such a lovely sociable evening and great atmosphere too.

This was a great evening and we hope we can look forwards to something else in a similar vein in the future. Many thanks to everybody who came and had a great time and also to the volunteers to supported chef in prepping and serving food not to mention washing up until the wee small hours.

Just to say many thanks for such a lovely Italian 🇮🇹 evening last night.  The food was amazing and you all looked after us very well 🥂🍷.  The young ones were a credit to you.
