Adderley Heritage Trail Launch Event – nearly here!

As you know Adderley has been fortunate enough to receive a grant from Heritage Lottery Fund to save a valuable collection of archive material capturing the history of Adderley back as far as 1066. This collection has been created by Geoff Butter who grew up in Adderley and loves the history of our village.

Next Saturday 27th April at 11.00 am there will be an official launch of the Adderley Heritage Trail and another chance to view even more  of the materials and history of our lovely village.  The event will be open to people to drop in until 2.00 pm so plenty of time for everyone.  A light buffet will be provided.  The event will be in the village hall, and everyone in the village has had an invitation as well as a large number of ex residents.

The response has been overwhelming with replies from people in and outside the village, and the hall is going to be packed with people helping us to celebrate the achievement of the Trail and the website which allows everyone to see the vast collection.  You will also be able to hear what is still left to do.

A whole host of new material is being brought to the hall next Saturday by these visitors which will enable us to add it to this wonderful collection.

If you haven’t looked at the heritage website yet, you can find it here:
