St Peter’s Day

June 27th and it’s St Peter’s Day. Adderley Church and its school both have the name of St Peter one of the twelve apostles who was also known as the Rock so it’s a big day in the life of our historic church.

Follow the scarecrow trail down to the church and you can see a scarecrow portraying one of the stories of St Peter. While you’re there treat yourself to a cream tea and take time out to look around this grade one listed building.

If you intend to take a look around the church please remember to wear a mask and follow the social distancing rules.

The Cat In The Hat

Cat in the hat scarecrow

The Cat In The Hat has launched the Adderley Scarecrow Trail – brilliant! It’s a wet start so if your scarecrow isn’t waterproof (ours isn’t!) Then it might be worth while waiting until in the morning (we will).

In the meantime maps of the scarecrow trail to download are linked below and printed maps will go into the book shelter at the end of Rectory Lane in the morning.

Have Fun.

Scarecrows Come Out To Play

Tomorrow it’s Friday 25th and it’s time for the scarecrows to come out to play. We’re very excited and so are the scarecrows. Maps will be available to download Friday evening and paper maps can be collected from the book shelter in Rectory Lane on Saturday morning.

We know that one or two scarecrows are waiting for Grandchildren to come an help get them ready so won’t be out until Saturday evening or Sunday morning but that’s okay because Grandchildren are very important.

Looking forwards to seeing all of the scarecrows and following the trail. Don’t forget to cal in to St Peter’s Church on Sunday for teas, coffees and a look round.

Scarecrow Trail 2021: Are You Ready?

The excitement is almost unbearable. Scarecrows will be going out this weekend!

A reminder for Sunday 27th, which is St Peter’s Day. When you’re walking the scarecrow trail take time to walk down to St Peter’s Church to view the scarecrow. When you’re there step inside for teas and coffee then take the opportunity to look around this amazing grade one listed building which is a major feature of Adderley Parish.

So much going on, it’s amazing!

Scarecrow Trail 2021

There has been a final flurry and we have got the latest map update. Check it and make sure that you’re on in roughly the right place. If I’ve managed to miss you out I’m sorry, just let me know and I’ll put you in. If you’re a bit late don’t worry there’s always space for another.

It’s an amazing entry, well done everybody. Looking forward to seeing the scarecrows come out to play on the 25th and 26th. Fingers crossed for the weather. The final map will be available to download on Friday night and the printed map will be in the book shelter on Saturday morning.
