Hello there! Glad you are joining us on the Trail. Hope you have lots of fun but remember to be very careful crossing the road and only go with a grown-up/responsible person, not on your own. You may find the odd easter egg on the trail if you are very good at clues, but please don’t be greedy, just take one for yourself and leave the rest for those who may come next. The Easter Bunny
Click “Download file” below to get a copy of the Easter Egg Hunt OR go to the Book Shelter at the end of Rectory Lane to pick up a paper copy. Good luck and good hunting!
Yes, its true. Peter is down at the Book Shelter. He says to let you know he’ll be there til Monday evening if you want to pop and see him, and he and the Easter Bunny have been very busy with a team of rabbits from all over, setting up the Easter Egg Hunt. There will be eggs in all sorts of strange places just waiting for you to find them.
Its looking pretty good, so you only have two sleeps to get your thinking head on ready to work out the clues to do the Hunt. Clue sheets will be in the Book Shelter early on Friday morning or you can download them here from 6.30am Friday morning and use them on your phone.
Thought I’d let you know that the Easter Bunny has been in touch. He and his friends have LOADS of eggs left over from their deliveries and wanted to know if we want some for Adderley for a Treasure Hunt? Well, I thought that was a rather silly question ‘cos of course WE DO!!
So I’ll get my thinking cap on and do a trail for you. It will all be ready to go from first thing on Good Friday morning and will last until Easter Monday evening – so up early folks. You know the saying – “The early bird catches the worm” (or in this case the easter egg :-))
The Trail will be around the village, so children, get Mum and Dad or another responsible adult to agree what time you are going out, and then pop down to the Book Shelter to pick up a copy of the Trail Clues, or download a copy here from Friday morning, and take a bag with you just in case you find the odd egg around.
And don’t forget, the Trail is for everyone so only take one egg per child from each place, so that there are plenty to go around The Easter Bunny will be watching so be kind and share.
We will put the Trail on line on Friday morning 6.00am so just visit the Adderleyparish.co.uk website News page to find the link, then anyone with a phone can download a copy to save paper. We will put a few paper copies in the Book Shelter for anyone who can’t easily print them off.
(Note to Adults – please ensure your children are supervised on the Trail)
Some village volunteers put themselves forwards to undertake the resuscitation course held at the Village Hall. Intended to support the use of the Defibrillator outside the Village Hall Ann Shepherd returned to Adderley to teach the basics of resuscitation. Course was organised by Marius Coulon.
For more information about the defibrillator see the link below:
You will recall that we recently made a call for people to join a working group to support the revitalisation of the structure of the Village Hall. We had a fantastic response to the original request but would still like to hear from a few more people to make up this group.
Our village hall has an amazing history but the fabric of our Village Hall is deteriorating and we want to ensure we have a plan and proposal for revitalising it.
This is a unique opportunity to create a vision for the future not just of a valued community resource but also an incredible piece of Adderley’s history. With that in mind we are asking everyone in the village if they have, or know someone who has, the following skills or expertise that could join a small working group.Whether you are retired or working, but feel able to volunteer a few hours of your time every month, we would like to hear from you if you:
have some project management experience to guide the group in the development of a project plan
have a background in quantity surveying or structural engineering
are an architect or experience in draughting architectural design
have some experience in community consultation and/or engagement
have experience in grant application and funding
If you would like to talk about this before committing, please contact Ken Greethamemail: Enquiries Enquiriesadderleyvh@outlook.comfor an informal chat about our vision and intentions.
Just a nudge to say that coffee morning will be this Saturday 25th Feb, 10:30 until 12:00.
Come and get one of your five a day with jam, butter cream, chocolate and the good stuff you need to get you through the weekend. Not forgetting chat, laugh, gossip and enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee all for £2.00
You have until the 5th March to nominate somebody for the BBC Make A Difference Awards.
There are a wide range of categories in which to nominate people you just have to think about who makes a difference in Adderley Parish. We’re not naming names but who keeps the churchyard looking so amazing? Who makes the village look so attractive throughout the year. How is it the book shelter always looks so tidy? Who helps out at the school in their spare time? Have you got a special neighbour? You can nominate individuals or groups. There is more information at the link below and nominations only take a couple of minutes.
